Foundations for Trans Inclusion: Part 1
This training provides the foundational language and concepts needed to deepen your understanding of trans and nonbinary communities. People who register now, while Part 2 is still in development, will get free priority registration for Part 2.
The past few years have seen increasing acceptance of trans and nonbinary identities, along with escalating backlash in the form of anti-trans rhetoric, legislation, and misinformation. Trans community members continue to face intense stigma, violence and barriers to participation. Many people have good intentions about trans inclusion, but of course we know that good intentions are not enough - we also need knowledge, skills, and practice, as well as policy and structural innovations to move beyond inclusion to real equity and gender justice. This “Part 1” training provides the foundational language and concepts needed to deepen your understanding of trans communities. “Part 2” provides the foundational skills needed to do your part for trans inclusion in your community or workplace, including discussing pronouns and supporting trans and nonbinary people.

Foundations for Trans Inclusion - Part 1 is equivalent to roughly the first 45 minutes of our live trans inclusion trainings. You might spend anywhere from 20 minutes to over an hour on it, depending on how much you engage with the discussion boards and other interactive elements.

Your registration will remain active for at least 4 weeks. If there are handouts or resources you want to download for future reference, make sure to do so before the week period runs out!

We’re aiming to complete Part 2 by the end of June!

A monthly live Q&A will be available to those currently enrolled in the course. You can also ask questions on the relevant discussion boards. Trainers monitor the boards and will respond periodically.

As a brand new course, Foundations - Part 1 is offered on a sliding scale basis, meaning you choose how much to pay. Those who pay $25 or more will receive free, priority registration for Part 2.
