Foundations for Trans Inclusion
The past few years have seen increasing acceptance of trans and nonbinary identities, along with escalating backlash in the form of anti-trans rhetoric, legislation, and misinformation. Trans people continue to face intense stigma, violence, and barriers to participation. Many people have good intentions about trans inclusion, but of course we know that good intentions are not enough — we also need knowledge, skills, and practice, as well as policy and structural changes to move beyond inclusion to real equity and gender justice.
Part 1 of this course provides the foundational language and concepts needed to deepen your understanding of trans and nonbinary communities.
Part 2 covers basic skills for trans inclusion, such as discussing identities and pronouns in respectful ways, building your allyship, and supporting people who are facing barriers to inclusion.

The whole course is roughly equivalent to our 90-minute live trans inclusion trainings, with lots of extra content that we usually don't have time to cover. Most people spend between 30 minutes and 2 hours on each part — you determine the pace that’s best for you!

Your registration will remain active for at least 4 weeks. If there are handouts or resources you want to download for future reference, make sure to do so before the 4 week period runs out!

A monthly live Q&A will be available to those currently enrolled in the course. You can also ask questions on the relevant discussion boards. Trainers monitor the boards and will respond periodically.
